The Zoo

Ugh....I this new blogger format is kicking my tail!

Anyhoo....The day before Easter we went with Troys dad, brothers, and sister (Becky) to the Oregon Zoo. It was a lovely day, the animals cooperated wonderfully, and everyone had a great time. It's amazing how many pictures you take of animals, that you will never use. I tried to spare you those. Here are some cute pics of some fun zoo times
Here the kids are running to the animal kingdom fun house...aka the zoo
I will just get the up close animals out of the way...obviously cheetahs...obviously very close. This is how most of the animals were, up close and personal.

Here are some far away animals, the hippos. These guys are huge and so cool.

We went in the Lorikeet Landing. Most of the birds are primarily green (as pictured below), so this pretty red one just stuck out sitting in the corner. She must have self esteem issues....being a different color and all. There's an after school special in there somewhere.

Hazel feeding a Lorikeet

This guy didn't need anyone to hold his cup for him.

This one wanted to come home with Violet.

I just thought this was funny, these guys were brawln', pretty hot and heavy there for a few minutes. Then someone walked up and put one of those little white cups down and they forgot about their argument and had a drink.

This orangutan had the sweetest face. She just kind of gazed up at us and let me take some pictures.

Then she decided that we had enough pictures and put that cardboard box on her head.

But the best part of our day was getting to spend it with family.

Those birds are beautiful. And orangutans can be cute and funny but they are usually very gross. They are definitely NOT my ancestors, I don't care what the stupid scientists say. I think those two little girls are the cutest thing at the zoo that day.

In the picture with the hippos, Hazel looks like she's lifting that rock over her head!
