Violet is a little hesitant to be excited about 2nd grade. She insisted I walk her to her class room this morning, asked me to stay a little while, and as I was walking out the door she came running up to me asking me to clean her glasses off. I like to think that was a ploy to get me to stay just a little longer and get one more hug before I left. I am glad she did because I needed one more hug too. She has 4 of her very good friends, including her very best friend Sonia, in her class. So I am pretty sure tomorrow she will be saying "check ya later" when she is dropped of at school.
Hazel on the other hand was asking if I could just drop her off at the door because she can just walk to class by herself. It makes me happy she is feeling some independence, because she was actually the one I was kind of worried about today since she is going to be in all day school now. I think it helps that she has Violet's teacher from last year.
Watch out Edwards Elementary!
