May 4th

I emailed this to a lot of my blog readers already, so if you've already seen it you can take a day off from looking at this blog.....

BUT if you are in the vacinity of a Dutch Bros Coffee please read.  This is for a cause that is very near to my heart and the heart of my family.   And for those who don't live near a Dutch Bros, let me just tell you that May is ALS Awareness Month, look around your community and see if there are any establishments donating to the ALS Association.

THIS IS AT ALL DUTCH BROS LOCATIONS IN OREGON, WASHINGTON, IDAHO, AND ARIZONA

Hello all you coffee drinkers(and non coffee drinkers),

This is my grandpa, George Butcher (and my nephew, George). This picture was taken 4 years ago, before his ALS diagnosis.  My grandpa is one of the strongest men I know, and I am now watching him fight the hardest battle of his life.

ALS , also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a debilitating disease of the muscles in which nerve cells waste away or die, and can no longer send messages to muscles. This eventually leads to muscle weakening, twitching, and an inability to move the arms, legs, and body. The condition slowly gets worse.  Right now there is no cure, and as with all diseases, cancers, and causes a solution or in the case of ALS, a cure, requires funding.

Dutch Bros Coffee is taking a giant step in making sure the research for a cure has funding. On FRIDAY MAY 4TH, they are donating ALL proceeds they make that day to the MDA/ALS Association.

This email is NOT an advertisement for Dutch Bros. They are NOT asking me to promote them in anyway. I am sending this email as a personal request, because  we, Dutch Bros., me, my family, and the families of everyone who is affected by this disease, are asking for support in fighting ALS.

Please pass the word, tell a friend, and have a coffee  on MAY 4th for my grandpa and the ALS Association.

Thank you,
