The Pacifier Fairy...and other fairly interesting things

Here is Violet with her "Pacifier Fairy" envelope.

Hello. I am sorry I haven't written in a couple of weeks. I thought I was going to be a blogging queen on my time off, but it turns out there is a lot more to do in a day when your not sitting on your rear end at a computer answering phones. I LOVED my time off, it was fun getting to just hang out and be domestic. We conquered the potty training like champs, it is soooo nice only having to change one kiddos diaper. Hazel didn't get potty trained, but she sure has fun trying. She will go in the bathroom and sit on the little potty chair with a book, fully clothed. But at least she has the idea. =) Potty training is not the only thing we accomplished during my time off. Instead of saying that we took away our daughters security/comfort feature that she has had since the day she was born almost 3 years ago, we like to say that the "Pacifier Fairy" came and took all the pacifiers away to give to little babies who need them and brought a kitten to replace it. The first night was really heart breaking, it was a night of loving the pacifier fairy for the new kitten, and hating the pacifier fairy for taking her beloved pacifier. I finally ended up sleeping with her all night, as she had a death grip on my arm. We are slowly coming to terms, but there is the occasional weepy set back. If you temporarily have to ruin your childs life I highly recommend blaming a benevolent mythical winged pixie who bestows furry creatures, because even though you know that you are the one responsible for upsetting their little life, it is somehow therapuetic to pass the buck. =) I could go on about my 2 weeks of domesticity, but I will just give you a few highlights.....

1. Went and saw 27 Dresses with a very dear friend

2. Tried a couple of new recipes and found that I love my slow cooker

3. Took the girls to the library for story hour

4. Didn't get to start my book

5. Took Hazel had her 18 month well child check and she is 50% on everything and 100% ADORABLE

6. Took Violet to an eye doctor appt. She still has to wear a patch for 6 hours a day, but it is working she is now 20/25 in her lazy eye(with her glasses on)

Anyway....if you couldn't tell, I had a wonderful time. I am now on my break at work, and though I wish I was at home having coffee break with my sweet girls, I have to say that I am blessed to have a good job and work with sweet people. Always look for a silver lining! =)
(This is Olivia, she is a very sweet cat. I will get more pictures of her on here soon)

I'm glad potty training and de-pacifying went well. I like the mean fairy idea. So what is the new kitten's name...or was it a stuffed one? And what was the phone # you paid for?

Humm I left you a comment yesterday and it didn't seem to work. I love the de-pacifying fairy. Remind me of that when I can't break my child of bad habits! I can't wait to see pictures of Olivia . . . if that's really her name, that's what Violet told me anyway. Love you guys!

I love the pacifier fairy idea too. That's great. Cody sucked his thumb & you can't take that way so we had to just have him stop & put gloves on him. Brayden rubbed his ear which we never made him stop, he stopped doing that around 5, so thank goodness he didn't suck his thumb or pacifier until he was 5!
