The Zoo

Troy's family came to Oregon for a visit in early July and we got to go play at the zoo for a while and then we went to the St. Paul Rodeo on the same day. We are par-tay animals!

I some how did not get any pictures of all 6 grandkids and Grandpapa together, but here's 4 out of the 6. A bunch of cute kids if you ask me!

Speaking of cute kids, here's one with a hippo

Here Violet is with cousin McKinley, again, somehow did not get ANY pictures of Kenndal. Aunt Laura FAIL!

Photo op!

Yep, if you look closely Violet is playing with poop. This was a which animal goes with which poop game.

Close up pic with a bald eagle. Just makes ya want to sing the National Anthem!

Family

Yes, I realize it has been a month since I last posted, it's been a bit crazy.

This past week we have had Carrie and Ryan and families in town, so I have a lot of pics to share, but here is just one picture that made me smile. It is a growing friendship and a reminder of how wonderful the blessing of family is. I am very thankful for my sister and brother and the spouses they chose, and the children they are raising. I have so many wonderful memories of my cousins, and I am very happy that my girls are creating wonderful memories too! These 2 were hanging out all week, and found it very hard to say good bye.

More family time pics coming soon.

April

Instead of doing a few different posts for April goings ons, I decided to combine them into one....

First we celebrated Grandpa Butchers birthday, which would have been his 83rd on the 3rd, with a fabulous lunch of wiener wraps and a visit to the cemetery to release balloons.

It is so very important to Grandma for the great-grandkids to remember Great Grandpa and to feel comfortable visiting the cemetery.

Great Grandma asked the girls what they remembered about him, and sweet Hazel said she remembers him always reading his Bible. I love that.

This month was also the Father Daughter dance put on by Park and Rec.  It was originally scheduled for February, but was rescheduled due to SNOWMAGEDEN 2014.

A couple of weeks we went to Flying M Ranch to go horseback riding with a lady from church. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.

The girls got the opportunity to put the horseback riding lessons to work.

Finally...Easter. We went to Oma and Opa's house with the Thomas', and Steve's boys.

We always have a fun time. In years past we have hidden eggs multiple times. This year we hid 91 eggs and that apparently was enough of a challenge, because the kids didn't ask to do it again.

April was fun. Looking forward to May and warm weather.
