The Rodeo

This is our 3rd year going to the St.Paul Rodeo, and I have to say it is quickly becoming one of my favorite traditions!

We ride a few rides....

(a great view of the arena from the ferris wheel)

Eat the food.... in Hazel's case a gigantic corn dog! Yummy!

 Watch some entertainment..

Like the rope trick guy...

...and the rodeo clown

Meet some of the rodeo court...

And of course some guys falling off some big 'ole bulls! Never gets boring!

And to top it off we got to go with Grandpapa and Uncle David.  If any of ya'll want to go to the rodeo with us next year we'd love to go with you too!!

Framing, Wires, and Sheetrock

Progress is being made!!

The girls and I were away for a Girl Scout thing for a weekend and Troy got the framing up...

...and all the wiring done. Lots and lots of wires.

There is no longer a hallway to the bathroom, but the bathroom is going to be a lot bigger now! A fair trade I'd say.

It was a late long night putting up the sheetrock on the ceiling. Violet got to help make the circles where the holes for the plumbing are. I got to help put the 12 foot sheets of sheetrcok up. Yikes, those things are  heavy and awkward to work with!

Then the wall sheetrock started.

Much to my (and I'm sure Troy's)  pleasure, Troy's dad and brother came to visit. My arms and Troy's sanity are grateful they did! They got to help. =)

I am excited to see how the rooms are going to look!

#9

Hazel turned 9 on Sunday, but we turned it into a 2 day event. On Saturday we invited some friends and family out to Camp Yamhill for a forest themed party.

There was a small water hike down Haskins Creek and lots of swimming and water guns at Inspiration Point.

The birthday girl wanted bear claws for her "cake" because it went better with her forest theme, of course.

Here is the birthday girl on her birthday morning. I did not realize until looking at this picture how long her legs are. When did she get so big. *sigh*

Her birthday lunch choice was Abbys, duh. Is there any other place to celebrate your birthday. =)

Hazel wanted to see Inside Out, but I have not heard amazing reviews. So I did some smooth talking, and played to her love of animals, and talked her into seeing Max. I'm glad she did, because it was a very good movie!

Grandpapa and Uncle David came down for the celebration

When it's your birthday, and Uncle David is around, why walk?

I cannot believe we are in our last year of single digits. These girls make it so fun to be a mom!
