A Corner of My World 2

 Here is another corner of my fridge. I love looking at this stuff every day.


Included:

- A picture I got in my Woodard Christmas card this year of 3 cute kids I hope to see in person again soon.

- A very precious picture of me, Carrie, Mom, and my mom's best friend Linda. This picture was taken at my brothers wedding May 21st, 2005. Linda passed away in a car accident 1 year later on May 22nd, 2006. I sure miss her.

- A Branson magnet.  Branson was home for 3 years. Lots of WONDERFUL memories of those 3 years. I got to live in the same town as my Grandparents, LOVED that and met a whole lot of wonderful people! Got to experience some Mid West summers, loved the heat, did NOT love the bugs.

- My Disneyland magnet....need I say more.

- Soccer pics. These are a couple of years old. But they are so cute!

- And a lot more homemade magnets made at 4H.

A Corner of My World

I love the things that have ended up on my refrigerator. There are things on there from my first year of marriage, gifts, pictures that make me smile and bring back wonderful memories, and magnets from wonderful trips and times in my life. I wanted to share just a corner of it with you....

Included:
- A list of biblical virtues I got from Randi (Seeber) Patterson
- A magnet from Louisiana I bought in New Orleans when I went back to Mississippi for Thanksgiving after my nephew George was born
-A magnet (the heart) from Maxine Cloyd as a thank you for being her secret sister
-A magnet (the cat) from a lady at church named Barbara she gave me when she was my secret sister
- A picture I made for Carrie last year and made a copy for myself too
- The little round magnets on the right are magnets the girls made this year in 4H at Christmas
- and the really cool peelers I got at a store in Lake Oswego named Sur La Tabla.  I bought them the day I went with a lot of wonderful special women in my family. The last time we did that before a big change was made.

A lot of wonderful reminders about a lot of wonderful times with a lot of special people.

 

LIke a Girl

I interrupt the blogging silence to bring you a really wonderful tampon commercial....

I actually may have put it on the blog before...but I can't remember. I just love it, and cry every time I watch it.

The Visitors

Our backyard became the party of the year for a homeless colony of bees tonight. 

 This particular leg of our trampoline was the place to be.

I have a co worker whose husband is a beekeeper, so I gave her a quick call and he was at our house within 15 minutes, and without bee suit walked up to the swarm, called them "babies", and got to work. This was his third call of the day, and while he was working he got another call!
As he worked he gave us some very interesting bee facts, and as far as I know he didn't get stung once. Which is one of the interesting facts, when they are "house searching" they are not aggressive, it's only when they have a home that they get territorial.

He said there were probably about 8000 bees, and they had made their way up under the under lip of the trampoline liner. He thought that this was probably where the Queen was, because they seemed confused about where they needed to be. As long as she was still on the trampoline, they wouldn't move to the bee hive box. So he needed to put his bee suit on and get pushy by scooping them into the box.

After he was sure that the Queen had relocated to the New House he left the bee box and said he would come back after dark to take it away.

I asked him if I owed him anything, and he said no because this was a really easy move, as they weren't in an attic or a steep roof. He is actually going to give me a jar of honey! Score! Thank you bees for invading my backyard!

Simply Amazing

I found this on Facebook, and just love it! This lady takes obnoxiously over made up dolls (Bratz, Barbies..etc), most broken and missing body parts, she finds at thrift shops and garage sales and gives them make unders. The results are just amazing and so sweet, and it makes me wish I had even just a smidge of the talent that she has.

She calls them Tree Change Dolls, not sure why, but you must GO TAKE A LOOK.

She does the hair and face, and makes boots for the ones without feet, and then her mom KNITS clothes for them. 

Oh they are just so cute. This one is probably one of my favorites. She is opening an Etsy store on 2/15, but as you can imagine, it is probably going to be near impossible to get one. As she is a one woman operation...and now we come back to that previous statement I made...I wish I had just a smidge of the talent she has. I'd be tree changing Barbies like crazy!

The Ants Go Marching
