Welcome Fall!!

I am so excited it is fall! I enjoy summer for the brighter evenings, warm weather, and activities. But I LOVE AUTUMN!!! The trees changing colors, the cooler days, the smell of rain, pumpkins, heaters, and sweatshirts. I have a couple of Fall traditions that I try to do. One is I try and read The Witch of Blackbird Pond, my favorite book. I read it for the first time in the fall of my 6th grade year, the weather was cold and rainy and it just matched the book so well. If you haven't read it, I recommend it. Another personal tradition is I try and watch Disneys Hocus Pocus. It is a very goofy kid movie, but it puts me in the mood for Halloween. I love Halloween, not so much for the witch and ghost aspect, but for the memories I have of dressing up and going trick or treating on a cold night or going to a party. So now I am going to go break out my pumpkin spice candle, put on a sweatshirt, and look for my book!

Do you have any Autumn traditions?

I just decorated our fireplace trunk for fall. We usually carve pumpkins every year. I love to do that.

Well for me it was starting school, but now when it's fall, it's time to prepare myself for the onflow of ALL our holidays: anniversary, birthdays, thanksgiving and christmas, and they last til January! Autumn is my favorite season though, I love going for walks when the leaves are changing colors. Jessica V.

I can't believe you still read that every year! It shouldn't suprise me though, as you are the queen of memories! I wish I had more traditions. Every season I try to think of fun things to start doing with the kids yearly, but it never seems to come up again. Maybe this season will be my lucky season since we have 7 other girls to entertain and try to make their holidays special =)

Let me see, traditions. . . . I pull out my fall decorations as early in September as possible! (Usually the 1st but this month they didn't get up until after the 7th)! One tradition that started but will probably end after this year is raking all the leaves up at our college st. house & take pictures of the girls in front of them with new fall outfits. . . . I of course throw an annual Halloween party. . . And I'd like to have another annual soup party on the first day of fall like we did that one year & play some sort of game. I do love me some pumpkin spice candles!!! I miss you cousin! We just figured out when we'll be coming in October & we'll be there for a couple of weeks so we'll have to make some plans!!! Sorry this comment ended up being so long! I love you!!!! ~W.
