The Zoo

The fun continued at the Kronewitters with a trip to the Oregon Zoo. It was a perfect day and not very crowded so it made the day very enjoyable. Here are the pics:

The girls in front of a black bears den. You can see sleeping in there. None of the animals were doing anything terribly exciting, but they were at least out in the open not doing anything.

We didn't spend much time in the penguin exhibit because it smelled VERY bad. They liked this little wooden penguin thing more than the actual penguins I think.

Here is Hazel with "Timon". This is a meerkat, there were about 5 of these and they were all sitting just like this. It was nice of this one to pose for me.

This was the sealion exhibit. I didn't realize they were so big, I love these underwater exhibits.

It's a bird...it's a plane....it's super sealion!

There were a couple of really humerous things we saw. Troy took this one. We had a good laugh, it looks like a really long zebra.

This guy was not happy to be here. This is a starfish with a bad attitude.

This is a lorikeet. There was a whole enclosure that you could go in and these guys are just flying around everywhere, but you have to be careful 'cause there is always one of them pooping. I thought they should hand umbrellas out at the entrance. Fortunately we made it out with out getting pooped on.

Nice pictures! We frequent our zoo often, and when you ask them what they saw, they usually say fish or cow or something equally unexciting. Kind of like the wooden penguins. I'm sure my kids would love that too. Weren't we all like that? You should make up some kind of funny email with those two animal pictures in it that we have to check on snopes.com to see if it's a true story or not! =)
