Rest In Raccoon Sparkles
Sparkles was a victim of neighborhood violence last night. The chickens have taken to sleeping outside their coop at night and apparently word got around the neighborhood and a raccoon (or some kind of nocturnal carnivore) decided to feast. So to help Hazel get over her poor chickens demise, and because we like getting a lot of eggs a day, we are replacing Sparkles with 2 new chickens. And the other chickens are going to start getting locked in their coop at night, because we don't have enough room to replace chickens 2 for 1.

Poor Sparkles. I have enjoyed her eggs these past months. She will be missed. But, hey, that's the circle of life. (Sing it with me) Mom
Oh No! So sad for poor Hazel. What did she name the new chickens?
