Sometimes I love a reality check, a reminder, a kick in the pants to why I exist. And that is to glorify God in the life I live and share Him with others. I was reading 1 Timothy today at work, and I got that kick. The perfect reminder that we are only here for a little while, that we are not guaranteed tomorrow, like James says. I was just so moved and inspired and uplifted that I wanted to share some of 1 Timothy with you.
Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
1 Timothy 6:6-7
But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
1Timothy 6:11-16
I hope it helps you remember that we are only a short lifetime away from getting to see Him face to face. But while we are here on this earth it should be our greatest effort and joy to serve Him, raise our children in Him, and be an earthly example of Christ in the way we love and serve eachother. I love you all. Have a great Monday!

Thank you for that wonderful reminder!
Its what gets me through every single day. Love you.
What a wonderful way to start out my morning. I am trying to make time each morning before I go to work to do my daily bible reading, This last week it has really worked out and I start each day with a little kick in the pants - which is usually needed. Thanks for this one, since today I missed mine!
