I don't know about ya'll, but I have made deals with God before where I think "God if you just let me win a million dollars I promise I would give a lot of it to charity". Well that deal came up again this weekend after I attended our church family camp where Kinwood Devore was the speaker. I don't know how many of you reading this know who Kinwood is, but those of you who do know what I mean when I say "Wow". This man is one of those men who could speak for 12 hours straight and no one would care or notice because he is speaks Loudly with conviction and truth. Kinwood is the founder and executive director for Metropolitan Fresh Start in San Fransisco, CA. You can check it out at this link, but in short it is a program to help rehabilitate men on drugs by showing them how to love God and themselves while helping them get sober and start over. It's not about psycho therapy, it is about showing them the life they have been missing by not allowing God to control their lives. They are not like the state that gives the man a couple of months of counseling and puts him back out on the street. The men get to stay as long as they need to, they help them find jobs, help them reconnect with their families. It is and incredible ministry, being done for the glory of God, and it is one of Califorinias most successful rehabilitation services. The men in the program are such a wonderful example of what can happen after you have hit rock bottom, if you have faith that God can make you whole. I only mention this because if I had a million dollars I would help Kinwood out with his work in CA and the Fresh Start house he wishes was in Portland. So if any of you have a million dollars or so just lying around here is a worthy cause.
The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.

I'll put him on my list of worthy causes for when I win that million dollar lottery. Oh yeah, I forgot, you have to actually buy a ticket don't you! I keep forgetting. It truly does sound like a wonderful work he is doing in the Lords name. What a great man.
