Ohhhh to be a kid again...
I have recently been bombarded with too many "grown up things".....refinancing our house, frustrating job, corrupt government and so on and so on. It makes me REALLY miss being a kid. I think I had the BEST childhood ever. Some of my favorite memories are sharing a room with my sister, teaching Ryan how to ride his bike, hot summer nights playing in our pool right before we went to bed, rainy fall school nights when we were all just at home doing nothing but being at home and mom was calling every mom in Newberg trying to find a volunteer for something for the school, my dad turning up his music (like Bruce Springsteen, Eagles, and Billy Joel) and dancing, and waking up when I heard the tick tick tick of the heater and sitting over the heater vent. These are all memories that make me smile, and quietly thank my parents for the childhood they allowed me to have. It's memories like this and a gazillion more that make me want to be a kid again, and REALLY makes me realize the childhood I would like my kids to have. I want them to be able to look back and say they are thankful that we did all we could to make them feel secure and protect them, so when they go through refinancing, lousy jobs, and other grown up things they have their childhood to smile about.

With a kitten and sister like that, who couldn't have a good childhood! They've already changed so much since July! But they just get cuter.
I think you do a wonderful job creating a memorable childhood for your kids!! They are lucky to have you. That picture of Violet and Woody is precious!! Looks like she's a keeper. I'll say some prayers for you guys and your grown up times!!
It truly does a mother's heart good to know her children cherish their memories of childhood. And again I say, I surely have the most adorable, beautiful grandchildren in the entire world.
Oh sweet Lor! I love you so much & know exactly what you're talking about. I feel the same about my childhood. As mother's we only want the best for our babies so what a huge compliment to our parents to say that we want for them what we had as kiddos. You are such an amazing mommy & your girls will reflect that. Speaking of girls, Ethne is starting to fuss! (the comics were funny too by the way!) Love you so much!!! ~Wend.
Your girls are beautiful just like their mama. I loved your childhood too, since I was blessed to share in some of your memories which became my own. Thank our gracious Lord for our ever loving families.
