Well...It's less than a year until elections so I thought I would once again tickle your brains with Dr. Ron Paul as President. A lot of people keep saying "he won't win, it happened with Ross Perot". First of all how will anything change if that train of thought is continued and secondly, Dr. Paul is not trying to run as an Independent, but as the Republican candidate. And in order to vote for him in the primaries in your state you have to be registered Republican. So find out your states registering deadline, and register Republican. We all have to admit that this country has fallen apart somewhere along the way. And though Ron Paul is not a saint, he does seem to have the people as a priority.
I heard on the radio the other day a great story about the first pilgrims that came to America and what they endured the first year here at "the new land". And we can only imagine the struggles, the winters, the sickness, and the wars that it took to form the country that we are today. Compared to other countries that have been around a LONG TIME, the USA is just a baby. A whiny cry baby. A selfish, out of control 2 year old that needs to be spanked and put in time out. Money runs it, and "the powers that be" steer it.
Like I stated in my last Ron Paul blog, I have never been a big politically minded person. All I know is that at one time (in my lifetime, not a long time ago) we were saying the Pledge of Allegiance in school, and it said "One nation under God". And now they are teaching Nothing created Everything and WalMart can't even wish me a Merry Christmas. In a world where everything is becoming grey, it would just be nice to see someone with substance, someone that stands for something more than money and power.
I want to acomplish 3 things with this blog today:
1. I want you all to look at Dr. Ron Paul as someone you would support and vote for as President. Don't say he doesn't have a chance, when you haven't even given him one by looking into what he is about. CHECK HIM OUT!
2. We talk about our "freedom", but what is that. What are we free from, what gives us our confidence in our freedom? How much do we know about the documents that allow us to be this way. I would encourage you to check out our CONSTITUTION and DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. This is what sets us apart as a free country, compared to so many in the world. This is what the men in our early years as a country fought for, this is what we are saying we are still fighting to protect today. Consider this the "Manual for the United States of America", if it's broken you get the manual. Come on you do this for the DVD player, do it for your country.
3. "The Boston Tea Party was an act of direct action by the American Colonists against Great Britain in which they destroyed many crates of tea bricks on ships in Boston Harbor. The incident, which took place on Thursday, December 16, 1773, has been seen as helping to spark the American Revolution." (Wikipedia) On December 16th, 2007 (this Sunday), supporters of Ron Paul, are going to be having a "Donation Party". If you read about Dr. Paul, and feel that he is someone you see as step in the right direction for the US, you can DONATE to his campaign. Of course you can donate whenever you want (not just on 12/16), but on this particular day it is just to show how big the support he has is and to get him over the $12 million mark so he can continue in the direction of Washington DC.

Pretty impressive sister in law. . .I really like what you said about America being a whiny baby . . . we are way too spoiled and don't realize what we really have. I think our generation starting to pay attention is going to make a difference . . . or I can hope anyway.
I have to agree with you that things wont change unless people try to change it. It is annoying that people won't vote for who they think is best. I have not been looking at the canidites at all so I am glad that you put his website in the blog. I will be sure to check him out. Have a good day! Love ya! Mary
ok, but what exactly is it that you like about Ron Paul? Do you agree with all his positions or is there a particular stance that is most important to you? I ask because I very much love to discuss politics and my poor family is so patient to listen to me go on and on about it. Politics and government affect everyone of us on a daily basis and we better wake up to that. To be passive is to be at the mercy of others. We must stand for what is right and get out there and vote.
P.S. this is Trina but for some reason it will not let me log in.
