Violet had her first soccer game on Saturday. She did a GREAT job! I get to be proud of her on 2 fronts, as mom and as coach. Yes you read correctly, I am her soccer coach. No, I did not play soccer and I don't really know much about the game. But fortunately I think I know more than 5 year old girls.
Her team is made up of 7 girls ( Elsa, Ella, Stella, Isabelle, Gracie, Claire, and Violet) and they are called the Twinkle Toes. Gracie and Stella are twins, Ella and Elsa are best friends and HAVE to hold hands ALL the time, Isabelle is VERY shy and only kicked the ball once and ran off the field our first game, Claire...well she just likes to frolick here and there, and Violet is the encourager. Makes a mommy proud. After each practice and before our game I have them gather around and we do the whole piling of hands and yelling of "1,2,3 Twinkle Toes". It is very cute and gets them sooo excited. Well, they love it so much that they kept taking it upon themselves to do it during the game, whenever there was a lull in activity. So a few times when they needed to be paying attention to stopping the other team, the 3 girls that were on the field would insted be huddled together doing "1,2,3 Twinkle Toes". I love that they have team spirit, but apparently we need to work on focus and direction. =)
The first game was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to the rest of the season! Games are on Saturday mornings at different times. If you want to come see Violet and the Twinkle Toes in action just let me know and a day and I will tell you a time!

Go Twinkle Toes! Sounds like so much fun. Your such a good mommy to do this for her. Do the girls call you "coach"?
wow you are brave! Please get some video action of the twinkle toes! Love the name!
Grandma will certainly be there. I can't wait to see her in action (and her mommy too).
