Portland Rose Festival Parade

Last weekend the girls and I got to walk with the Girl Scouts in the Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade.  We got to start off by walking through the Memorial Coliseum (where, by the way, I saw NKOTB  20 or so years ago, ahhhh... the memories).

It was a 4 mile (2 1/2 hour) trek from the Coliseum, across the Burnside bridge, and weaving through downtown Portland. Hazel was a trooper with her little legs. The girls we went with from our troop and another troop from Newberg got to carry the Girl Scout Banner for quite a bit of the parade. We were supposed to be taking turns with another (I might add older) troop, but we definitely carried it the most.

We had so much fun being apart of such a big part of Portland's festivities. Big memories were made this day. I was very proud of my girls, and the girls we went with. They were wonderful examples of what the Girl Scouts are about.

And in case you are wondering if this will be the only post for the next 3 weeks....have no fear...I have a few scheduled to come in the next few days/weeks! Promise!
