Christmas Scavenger Hunt

We did our usual Christmas morning opening of presents and stockings, much happiness and joy. Then after the stockings were empty I handed Violet another box that had a clue in it, which then sent her on a small scavenger hunt around the house....

searching in the bathroom, the tree, and then....
 on the front porch.

Where she found her American Girl Doll, with pierced ears,

I had hid Hazel's first clue under that little cardboard ginger box on the table in front of her. We were going to make her sweat it a little, make her think that she didn't get a scavenger hunt, but after Violet's hunt was over the video camera died. So we actually had to wait about 15 minutes, I felt HORRIBLE because she did make a comment about "I wish I could have a scavenger hunt" and looked disappointed. Even in her disappointment though she was super sweet and didn't complain, such a sweetie. Finally, it was killing me, the camera was charged enough, and we started her hunt, she was SOOOO happy, and she didn't have a clue what was waiting for her. We sent her around the house....

Then out to Troy's shop....

Where she found her puppy. It was love and adoration at first sight! Bolt had joined the family and has been a great addition.
