I had the wonderful experience of running around an auto wrecking yard most of my free time growing up between the ages of 7-17. Newberg Auto Salvage was our "home away from home". When mom would go out to do the books Carrie, Ryan, and I would run around playing in cars, building forts, playing in the adjacent field. When we got older we got to drive around out there, weaving in and out of the rows of cars, it is where I learned how to drive a stick shift. It was my first job, I started working there when I was 14. I don't think I was much help, but daddy kept me around until I got a job through the school my senior year. That is why I am excited that Violet and Hazel are hopefully going to experience this same "greasy" fun with grandpa's new auto wrecking venture. RB Auto Wrecking. As you can see Violet is already mastering the art of fake driving and playing in puddles.

Where did you find the "boots"? I NEED A PAIR OF THOSE!!!!
I guess you could say my dad has a resemblance of a "junk yard" too :-) But I just loved spending time with him out in his shop and being his helper when I could. You're girls are truely blessed!!
Ah, the memories those pictures bring back. I wish the boys lived closer so they could have the fun too!
